As the name implies, this site is about making armor commonly referred to as chainmail. The historically accurate term for it is just mail/maille, but in my opinion either is acceptable.

 

I made this site based on a site I used when learning to make mail that was hosted on Angelfire, around 1997-98, called The Chainmail Bible. That site no longer exists but I recently found a folder where I had printed some of the site out many years ago! Sadly, I only have patterns for various mail pieces the author had created and published but I intend to recreate them so their work can live on! Anyhing I recreate from the original site will be cited giving credit to the original author.

 

My goal is to recreate that site, in my own words and illustrations, and maybe one day locate the creator of The Chainmail Bible.
